> Yup, I used to do LOTS of slap shows. I went to finals the last year they had them (I want to say 05) and I used to talk to Mike and greg quite often. What happened is the other owners of SLAP basically backed out of it, and left all the burden on Mike, so now he just does shows local to him a few times a year (RI, eastern MA area)

Yes, I went in '05 too!
Mike and Greg were awesome.

I went to the SLAP organized show in '07 at Precision Mobile Audio in CP and had a conversation with one of the judges. We were talking about shows and cars in general and he asked me “When you were 16, what was the first thing you did to your car?” I told him the stereo. He said; “Exactly, ask a 16 year old kid that now, and they will say rims, body kit, etc…” It makes sense, the audio craze seems to have been put on the back burner. I used to love going into the Saratoga Mall (not Wilton mall) when Electronics Warehouse had a store there, I was amazed looking at the different installs they had done to what seemed like a different vehcile each month. Good times.
