Do any of these devices actually work…I am going out of town to some remote lake in upstate NY for a week. The area shows good cell coverage but from other people who have been there it isn’t great. Any thoughts? ---

I’ve heard they do work, but have had no personal experience with one ---

If there’s spotty reception borrow an old Nokia from someone… the iphone has horrible RF. ---

Well I have a Cingular Air card/IPhone I also have Verizon phone with tethering. One has to work. ---

the boosters will not work do to the fact you need to connect it to a high spped interweb connection… IIRC ---

I had to use their house phone to call in sick to work lol. Nobody’s phones would function no matter what carrier they were on. if you’re on call, find a coffee shop in town where you can pick up some free wi-fi ---

some phones will also have an external antenna port on the back that you can plug an external antenna into, it will generally add a couple decibels, nothing crazy. ---

Fuck it I will get work to expense satellite internet. I wasn’t talking about some sticker or other BS…I know they make hardware devices that boost signal with a external. ---

you know the air card may just work … my phone does not work at my house but the air card is at like -86db and works just fine ---

Lol, they only deploy the mobile towers for sporting events / concerts when the number of people are going to overload the available channels, and power outages / disasters. but in the event of the later, you better hope you are designated as an emergency responder, because their signals get preference on the tower. ---
