# change altenator belt on ka

hey, its cold now(-30ish) and i decided its time to change my altenator belt, i was wondering what things i should look for precautions i should take to do the change over? suggestions would be great thanks! ๐

Should be a quick job. There are just two bolts I think. Loosen them off and switch them, then tighten them back up.

Unless you have to take some of the other belts offโฆ shitty tme to do belts.

Haha I just did this, twice.
Assuming you mean the ka24eโฆ:
Loosten the big belt nearest the front of the engine bay. Slide it around the fan, and out of the way. If you have a fan shroud, it will all be more difficult. Take it out i guess. Yeah so once that is off, you need to loosten the top bolt on the alternator (facing foward), the bolt facing sideways right beside that one, and the bottom bolt. The alternator should slide side to side now. Iโll assume you know what to do after that.

ha, thanks! will i have to tourqe any of the bolts or just tighten them decently tight?
