can this be done with vB 3.0? think it would be a nice addition. :shrug: thoughts, commentary, severe beatings with 3/4" hose? :eekdance: ---

I dunno. A site I was used to frequent all the time, [Newschoolers.com](http://Newschoolers.com), has it. I never found a use for it. It was always just more convenient to setup an AIM chat if anything. ---

Yes it can be done. Via IRC or standalone program module unique to the board. Don’t know how easy it is for VB, php wasn’t too bad. It would take some work though. ---

vb chat is easy to hack in, but it kinda then defeats the purpose of this board in some way… I dunno, who wants it who doesn’t? I can put it in if you all want. ---

yeah i thought the whole board was a caht forum? so why not just make an irc channel to hang out in if thats wat ur looking for? ---

i think it go agienst the purpose of a forum like this… what if a question comes up on a chat and another person is wondering the same thing but wasnt chatting at the time … then the same question will be asked over n over again. and on top of that im sure all it will do is add to the drama factor on here ---

I agree, it will defeat the purpose of the board. but it will also be good in the long run, such as if there is a question that needs an in dept answer it will be easier to talk on the chat than the baord, because you wont have to wait for someone to post on the baord. But it has its ups and downs. ---

i’d sit in it at work if the proxy/etc would allow me to. would be much easier if it would work easily in a browser as opposed to me loading some java irc client on a webpage or configuring irc software ---

trillian is a pretty nice client for loading irc, aim and irc at the same time, u wouldnt find me complianing ---
