I am not sure if the President can pardon someone who is indicted and hasn’t went through a trial?

Bad publicity is going to be his sentence.
For the record, Spitzer recently got off without any legal issues either.

politicians are not exempt from the law, and i hate that they actually are, not technically but in theory they are

Any high profile figure.
Look at the Hollywood’s finest as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, etc can commit border line felonies and get off with as much as a fine or an hour in jail. What a joke.
