8:19 is pretty impressive for the Camaro. Here is a list of cars that posted slower times at the ring. I would say the Camaro is in some pretty good company.

Wonder what a Z28 would do, considering it has the same engine as a CTS-V which ran a sub 8 min run and a couple hundred pounds less.

engine alone =/= track time, the CTS-V is a solid handler as well

"WOW So they have looked at a car and thought, Well its got 4 separate wheels, what if we treaded them all separate ? …Like the europeans have been doing for 100 years ? " - James May. HaHa Love that, anyway, Im surprised to say the least, not bad.

for some reason I like the new mustang better… I can’t explain it, the camaro should win when I use conventional logic. I think it’s because I don’t consider either a sports car (for my needs) so I look to which is a more fun daily driver.

if you stick a really stiff suspension on a shit chassis that has a ton of power it will do well at a place like the ring or the glen which a big and open. does that alone mean the car is a great handling car? not in my opinion.
