# civic trans question

98 civic dseries motor, 5spd hydraulic. I found a cheap cable trans 100% perfect, can i swap to a cable trans without to much hassle/still reliable? If so what do i need?
if not, whats the best spot to find a trans for these cars?

Japan Star has pretty cheap transmissions, 92-00 D series trans will all work.

well sure they all bolt up, however some are cable operated, while others are hydraulic. I need hydraulic, or a cable w. “conversion kit” if they make it for d series, i only see b series so far.

What he was trying to say, all 92+ Civics have hydro. Earlier models had cable.

Exactly.
Give a call to Japan Star. My cousin’s turbo D15 broke transmissions all the time, and Japan Star always had tons of them. They don’t list everything they have on the website.
