One of the first changes that we have decided to implement involves this cluster we call the classifieds. The staff spends a lot of time giving out warnings and infractions, and changing titles and deleting posts. We will be dealing with all of the issues eventually, but one thing that we can change is THREAD PREFIXES. You may have seen them on your other forums, but on NYSPEED they are new. What they do is allow a member to more easily determine a general category that a thread may be in. In the classifieds sections, I have put in the following thread prefix tags: **For Sale:** **Want To Buy:** **Want To Borrow:** **Trade:** **Feeler:** Hopefully this will help keep things more organized in those particular sections. One neat feature that might come in handy with these prefix tags is that after a few days of them being MANDATORY, you can set up a filter for viewing a classified forum that will limit the display to ONLY those threads with the tag prefix that you select. So if you only wanted to look at the FOR SALE threads, you could filter out all of the rest of them. If I get ambitious tonight, I may go back and edit a bunch of threads to include the tags. To give you some examples on how to use this feature, here’s some help. When you create a new thread (classified ad) in this section, you will see a new drop box available. ![http://www.nyspeed.com/forums/images/announce/prefix1.jpg](http://www.nyspeed.com/forums/images/announce/prefix1.jpg) Clicking on the down arrow will show you a list of available prefix tags to apply to your new thread. Call now and we will double the offer!** After this has been used for a while, suppose you ONLY want to view those threads that are “Autos For Sale” Well, you can do that, by simply using the Display Options section for the Auto Trader forum. Hopefully this will make things easier on all of us. If you have any issues of suggestions for a new prefix, please post them up so I can try and implement them. EDIT: **No longer should you be changing your title to DELETE or removing any content from the add after it has sold. PLEASE PLEASE just change the thread prefix to “SOLD:” in the advanced edit window. It will make things even easier for everyone!!** TPGSR ---

I will lose the color on the feeler… I tested it on a different background and it looked not so shitty. I do agree with the getting rid of TW/Feeler, but I didn’t want anyone to cry. Community votes win, it will be gone tonight. I wanted the colors to make it real quick to differentiate, many other forums use the colors, red darkgreen etc… and it does help when looking at the actual forum. I am going to be doing exactly this: Feeler - GONE Want to Hire - Added Want to Find - Added (as in job) I will make sure that the colors are much easier on the eyes. Keep any suggestions coming, 90% of the changes are based on what you guys want and have asked for. The more you ask for, the more we can try out. ---

maybe i’m retarded (quite possible) but i was looking at something in the classifieds, and i switched windows and was doing something for a few minutes, and i switched back to nyspeed, and i couldnt tell if the thing was for sale, wtb, whatever because it didnt actually say it in the title of the thread anyway to put it into the actual thread title? ---
