just want everyones opinion on a clutch choice for my ka. i can get a centerforce dual friction for half the price of an act stage II, which is amazing, but has me wondering why… as far as i know centerforce clutches are high quality and are great for FR’s… a lot of honda or FF guys may not like them but oh well, hondas suck anyway. has anyone used centerforce? feedback on the product? thanks 🙂 ![http://www.japautoparts.com/pic/centerforcecf2.jpg](http://www.japautoparts.com/pic/centerforcecf2.jpg) ---

i dont think ive ever had a conversation with you or anybody on this site about a clutch. if what you mean is there was a thread discussing centerforce, drop a link homie! ---

I had the stage 2 in my old 95 240 for about 75thou and it was perfect. I was so happy with it that I made it my first mod on the 97 as soon as I got it. You can’t beat the price and it’s not like you are taking a cut in quality for it either. I have the stage II and will squeek the tires in 3rd any time I want to (with int and exh mods). I went to the strip one of the last days last year and actually chirped 4th on the tacky strip (with ES100’s too). If my horse power ever exceeds this one I will just get the dual friction. They have the pedal pressure thing down pat. ---

thanks cal. well i read that whole damn thing and centerforce was mentioned once, maybe twice and i missed it… i think im going to go ahead and buy it, the price is damn right amazing with my PI cost (nobody PM me asking me to buy you a clutch!) I’ll let you guys know how it works out ---

I recently went by PI to get price quotes on fittings and pipes, and let’s just say that when CT charges you $48 and PI charges you $75 for the same exact part #, well…you figure it out. I believe Andrew (idiot box) owned a Centerforce in the past, might want to ask him what he thinks. What’s your budget like? :wavey: ---

ok i just bought it lol $263 + tax I’ll let everyone know how it works out. i basically have everything i need now, just have to decide on engine management. ---

Its a good clutch spilner. I ran it on the KAT all summer, it didn’t see much track but it had its fair share of abuse. Put like 12k km on it. As for engine management, Grab Adam’s AEM EMS Convert to a S13 harness and run an External Coil. For that price you would be stupid not to. If he throws in the sensors and controllers with it, plug and play grab some 700cc injectors and be done with. You bought his Turbosetup why not complete it with his EMS tuned for that turbo setup? That OBD II will only cause you headaches if running anysort of piggyback system. Andrew. ---

Im just worried about converting to obdI, i keep hearing horror stories about all the things that could go wrong. has anyone done this before?? ---

HAHAHHA ADAM I LOVE YOU :69: Adam’s right spilner, I don’t see converting to OBDI being all that bad. Concidering people are running s13 sr’s, running s13 KA harness should not be a problem. Spilly, just ask Frosty about it. He converted Danner’s S14 OBDII KA to S13 OBDI. This was when the motor went into the S13, before it eventually found its way to his S12. The motor has to come out anyway, so change the harness/ECU when the motor is out, change what needs to be changed on the KA that’s on the stand, then it will be a simple plug and play swap when the new motor goes in. The only horror I can imagine is putting the distributor in wrong, but as long as you’re careful and double check everyting, don’t touch any power tools with cutting attachments, you’ll be fine. ---

im not worried about the motor, im worried about all the auxillary stuff, abs, climate, cluster… i’ve heard horror stories… push defrost button and the hazards turn on for example. I dont think im going EMS tho so im just going to leave the car how it is in that case.
