I walked into a GM Dealership today to bs with them about the Cobalt SS. Right away everyone started getting hyped, they couldn’t wait to pop the hood and show me the supercharger…so when they popped the hood and opened it…i raised my eyebrows and dropped my mouth… why is a Supercharger on a 2.0 L Engine? :down: He went on to tell me that there were two cobalt ss engines… a 2.4 L N/A Engine and a 2.0 L Supercharged Engine. I started to laugh :tool: GM can’t even put a Supercharger on the bigger engine? Engineers are retarded…I feel bad for the Cobalt SS now more than ever ---

boost is frequently applied to smaller displacement engines… toyota mr2? 2.0 turbo, 2.2 n/a plus, the 2.4 wasn’t available when the SS came out. I think they’re phasing out the 2.0 supercharged for the 2.4 to reduce costs. ---

it’s a supercharger so it can’t add THAT much boost. it’d blow the engine, would it not? thanks for additional info shaler, i did not know they were phasing out the 2.0. i can see this car dying quickly. what about the Saturn Redline? ---

I like scions advertising, They turned up the gayness x 30. compared to Vw advertising :eek: ---

You have no idea what you’re talking about, huh? The 2.0L is more stout than the 2.4L from everything that I’ve read. Granted, it should’ve had a turbo on it rather than a S/C. There are two versions of the SS. There’s the SS Supercharged with the 2.0L 205 HP engine and the SS with the 2.4L 171 Hp engine. It’s sort of like the SRT-4 and the SRT design Neon. ---

Ask them about changing the oil. i know for a fact you have to take the supercharger off to change the oil. ---

I agree that GM should’ve gone further, but there’s a ton more potential in that car than the TC. I can’t stand the wing or the wheels on the SS. The trunk is also useless. The SRT design neon is for people who want to ugly up their regular neon by putting on an ugly front bumper and 1" chrome exhaust tips. ---
