# Coilover instalation.

Hey guys Im thinking of installing my coilovers next week and I was wondering if there is anyone in here that knows how to do it and also has the right tools to do the job. I will supply lots of beer and food!

You could always just give them to me and I’ll install them on my car. 8)

All you really need is a 19mm, 17mm, 14mm and 12mm wrench.
I cant really remember the sizes, but a wrench set is all you need.
Rachet sockets and rachet wrenches are a big help tho, especially on the rear coilover mounts if you still have carpet in your trunk.

- Breaker bar (or 1/2" ratchet - something with leverage)
- Extension (makes job easier especially up front)
- 17mm socket (Try to us ea 6-point socket; avoid multi-point)
- 17mm boxed end wrench
- WD-40
- 12mm wrench/socket for rear upper strut bolts
- 14mm socket for front upper strut bolts
Don’t be a pussy and get someone to do this for you because it’s so
simple. Only way you’ll learn is by trying yourself. :nono:
Expect to spend 3-6hrs the first time you do it. 1-2hrs the 2nd time around.

I’d use air tools they’re quicker and require less effort. I installed my coilovers in 2.5 hrs…

Not everyone has air tools. And if someone has air tools but not even a
basic mechanics tool box, then, :ugh:

what kinda coils are they? I have installed and adjusted alot of pairs bring them to my place and we can do them.

if you cant install coilovers which is one of the easiest jobs on the s13 to do then how are you planning to put that sr in.

I got Tein for the back and K office in the front.

Im sure I can do it my self, I just asked for some help to speed things up a little because if someone has done thins before it really speeds things up, I don’t have much time I work 7 days a week ☹ .

I had attempted to put mine on but the rear suspension wouldn’t drop after I loosened the top bolts. So I gave up. Any ideas why or what I can do to fix?

When I wanted to do mine, I wanted to see someone else do it that
probablly knew.
I figured Jantos would know so I went by his place to help him with some
shit including installing his coils.
I thought he knew what he was doing. :ugh:
He did some shit that he shouldn’t have but for the most part it seemed
easy enough that I could do it on my own.
You won’t know how much your to adjust your coils to get the right ride
height so you may end up doing the job twice to get the right ride height.

g spec is the coilover master, remember the coilover install then the etob meet…good times

I’d say scotty is the coilover master. I mean who else can get their coils out without taking the wheel off? only scotty.
