# cold start problem.

hey guys i have a cold start problem.
it turns over but it can’t idle, i have to blip the gas a bit to raise the idle and than slowly bring it back down again. this only happens when its cold and the car is not warm.
can anyone help me out??
btw. its a 89 ka24e sohc.

could be a multitude of problems, ur gas lines may be freezing , ur oil could be tooo thick , ive had that before with the same problem, if not ur idle up valve/coldstart/iac whatever u want to call it is malfunctioning , also could be your temp sensor

hmm…i don’t think its the gas line, cause it can start, but just stalls out immediately, it tries to idle but won’t, so i have to feather the throttle so it does go up and than ease it back down again and its fine.

alright i’ll give that a try tomorrow and see what happens. if not i’ll just bare with it for a bit until i get the dohc swap
