My digital camera takes some decent movie clips and will record for as long as I have media space.

I would like to take videos and put them up online to share with people, however, the file sizes when I download them off my camera are enormous.

What kind of program do I need to be able to compress these files and still maintain some degree of quality?

You can DL demo programs like Dr.DivX or I think Windows Movie Maker can do it as well. Look around [www.download.com](http://www.download.com)

Virtualdub is also a decent free one. Or if you have no issues with.wmv files windows movie maker is good at compression.
