Best buy takes em in exchange for a $10 giftcard I think. CRT monitors cost $10 to dispose of there so it voids the gift certificate.

Snow monster avoidance skills in ski-free no doubt.

Any non-IBM compatible stuff by chance? 🙂

::puts on tinfoil hat::

Most “computer recyclers” are simply exporting old computers to foreign countries where they sit in overseas landfills _un-recycled_. Better off just putting it on your curb, or at least try and donate equipment to a reputable “reuse” organization. Some organizations use older machines, for example, to train the homeless or at-risk youths for modern employment.

“It is estimated five hundred containers of second-hand electronics are imported to Nigeria every month. It is also estimated that three-quarters of these imported products are broken beyond repair…The irony is that many of these electronics were discarded by their original owners in the West for recycling.” [http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/africa/04/08/africa.recycling.computers.ewaste/index.html?iref=newssearch](http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/africa/04/08/africa.recycling.computers.ewaste/index.html?iref=newssearch)

Same thing in China…[http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2006/04/10/ewaste/index.html](http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2006/04/10/ewaste/index.html)
