# converting MKV file to MPEG?

looking for a free way to convert MKV to MPG format. I’ve tried multiple apps i downloaded, but they either have a black screen with just audio, or have some stupid watermark over the files.

any input is appreciated

a little OT, but based on thread title i thought you were trying to improve the fuel efficiency of your late model Volkswagen.

I think MKVs arn’t too bad on gas anyways.

Have you tried VLC yet? It plays any MKV file for me just fine.
