The thought process is seeing the end product in my mind, maybe it is too deep in the dash, but shit happens thats the point of doing mockups… its already all been torn out and is being redone

REDO!! I like this position much better, foam is just VERY roughly shaped at this point, gonna go through it Saturday morning with sanding and getting everything lined up… I love where it sits now… Thanks to those who tossed out their ideas in a constructive manner

Looks way better. Would you be able to make some contraption to change the angle of the ipad in case of glare??

Looks better. Is this for the drivers use or the passengers? If its for yours I think it needs to be tilted more towards the driver side

At least if I sit in it now I can play Angry Birds.
I had a friend of mine that put an 11" or 10" screen in his '97 Civic hatch in the dash back in 2003, looked ok.
What might look better and be more functional is if you put the iPad in place of the OEM stereo or slightly above it. That way your mounting options are increased, you can sculpt a hood, and possibly use the iPad in place of the deck or work something out where the iPad is the main source of control and relocate the deck. I still say keep going with the glass into the center console.
Are you planning on spraying the dash body color or wrapping it in suede with stitching or something of a combination of the two?

Got some progress!
Got the form done, went with mirrored transitions as I thought it looked a bit more “on purpose” and made a hood for it, which will move out with the iPad
And got it all taped up waiting for a test fit and then some glass!
