# Creating a custom clock with old marine gauges?

Back story: my grandfather had a company, EMS, that made marine gauges. Grandpa has since passed, but for a father’s day I wanted to have a clock made for my dad’s desk out of a new old stock gauge. I have picked a couple up off eBay.
I contacted Luke about maybe a digital LED. And thinking of reaching out to Matt (95d16turbo) about an analog clock possibilty.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Digit display is about 1" x 2.25"
Thinking maybe something like this, but it was too small?

I’m thinking something like this would be cooler than that LCD clock: (Although more $$)

**Nixie Tube Clock - they sell the kits with the electronics and bases; then use the gauges for custom mounts for the tubes**

I have seen the tube clocks but I don’t see how I could incorporate them while keeping the essence of the gauge
Something of this style would be cool as well. Both Grandpa and dad had their rec pilots license

Anolog, with printed stickers; re-face the knots to read 0 to 12, re-face the top left apparent wind to read 0 to 60.

I think the simplest solution would be just gutting an analog clock and put the guts in the gauge housing, remake a face, done. You would need logic and stepper motors for Jeremy’s idea. It’d be rad but not simple.
