your calling out peoples cars that i have personally rode passenger in/ seen race, your 1.8slow or your buddys 2.0slow are going to come anywhere near these cars…
newman could start off in 4th gear with his sti, and you in second at a 40mph roll and by 70 he would have at least a bus on you…

the car you speak of was my old car. grey gti. I traded it in and your buddy bought it.
I can speak from experiance that when I had the car it was stg 1 apr.
Quick? if mid 14’s was quick then okay…
I raced a legacy gt stock from a 10mph roll and beat him by maybe a car up to 100.
I also raced a sti with a clogged air filter and a full exhaust with no tuning…the car was running worse than a bone stock sti. We were dead even.
that gti will get rapped by any sti with any sort of tuning.
I also ran a 12 sec 300zx (woodys) and he destroyed me. It wasn’t even funny
IS the gti a good car? YES. is it fast? NO
The only way you will get that car to beat a 12 second transam is dump ATLEAST 10 grand into it.
OH WAIT.

if it is just a stock 3.8 s/c i think he will take you.
