Saw this article on R&T online [http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?section\_id=31&article\_id=6996](http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?section_id=31&article_id=6996) and got a lil excited. I’m curious to see how the new CTS-v stacks up against the M5. I think the V should be able to run right with if not past the M5. Its good to see Cadillac a serious contender in this catergory once again. I wondered what other’s thought and predictions are on this match-up. ---

Nürburgring: 7:59 My dad looked at the V in 2004 and thought it had a horrible interior compared to his BMWs (he has had a E36, E39, E65 and now a Z4 M roadster), had a crappy shifter but was fun to drive. At the autoshow he told me if they built that V like they had there, BMW would have their hands full. None of us have sat in a production model, granted I have seen 10+ on the road and the recaros look nice. And obviously the ring time with an engineer driving shows it can get out of its own way. ---

the cts-v was just on a top gear i watched he said the same thing big ron’s dad said, nice motor, shitty shifter and cheap interior ---

It has a Tremec T-56 in it, so a short shifter cleans it up a lot. As for the interior I think it’s ok. Heated leather with suede inserts. Too much plastic for my liking but I deal with it just fine. As for the brand new 2009 V, thats a whole new story. No wheel hop, no differential issue, interior that I really like with recaros as an option. The perception will still be that the BMW is a drivers car and the V is a cruiser that you can beat on from light to light, but I want to drive both before making a final judgement. ---

They will vouch for the BMW because a magazing 3 years ago said its interior was better. :lol: Yet, actually Justin, I would have to say the Caddy. 2 of my of friends at work recently got some new cars. One kid just got a 2008 CTS the other has had an '06 525 for a few months, and I’ll tell you what. All 3 of us would agree the Caddy interior is nicer. Its looks better, makes more sense the way things are laid out, and materals are on par with the BMW. Not to mention its more user friendly than the BMW due to its lack of I-drive. From experience guys, not an article in an 05 Motortrend folks. I did catch that AUdi thread. that was pretty funny. ---

Wow, Cadillac with a really nice interior on a really nice car. Since when did GM start trying again? I still don’t like the temp controls it looks like they came out of a 92 station wagon. ---

that’s not a really nice interior… that’s a clusterfuck of vents and buttons all over the place. I was just thinking… wouldn’t the M5 compete against the STS and not the CTS? I want to say it should be 4 door M3 vs CTS-V ---

interesting… the CTS-V is a bigger car than a thought… or maybe it’s that the 3 series hasn’t grown as big as I thought (they feel like the size of an old 5). ---
