# CTSV vs e46 M3 vs E39 M5 vs B6 V8 S4

I am not worried about snow since i have the fx. I have not considered evo or sti but may give it a glance. Looking for something in the luxury sports class brought me to those options.
I like to light money on fire but leasing is just dumb.

MBs typically do not come with manual trans which is why they have been eliminated from my search

i guess i dont understand the idea of wanting a sedan that is trying to be a “sports car” when you have an FX that will take car of your people hauling needs

Let’s Review.
1. FX = Primary Winter and Daily/Work
2. Twin Turbo Mustang = Very limited use/Fun/Vroooom pssssht
3. One of these cars = Something not boring to drive all the other times I drive places including use in the winter months. This does not equate to a Z06, plus I would buy a Saleen or Shelby first. Which was also a thought but then I would have nothing fun to drive 12 mos out of the year.
I should also add that I drive 45k per year for work so anything I have gets boring quick. So adding something that could assist in minimizing the boredom for 5 months of the year is great, plus mileage distribution is a perk to this whole thought process.

Get a 335 and mod the shit out of it. Be way faster 0-60 than the m5 and still get 30 mpg on the highway.
Or my vote is the m5, always loved them. Get a 01+ so you get the Lci updates.
The e46 m3 is just to damn small, Im really starting to get annoyed with my coupe to the point where it sits in the garage and I drive the 530.

I like the c5 z06 idea, e39 m5 is a great car and I loved mine but the body is dated and if you change the factory wheels it tends to look cheap like a modded 540/530. e46…ughhh don’t even get me started, extremely dated and small. I would never want to own one unless it was given to me for a stupid price. My G8 GT has a nicer interior and that’s not saying a lot. cts-v is a great alternative basically because of the aftermarket support. You could throw a g8GT into the mix if you are realy stuck on sedans. I like mine, for what it is.

The CTS V stands out a bit because of the Manual trans.
I am 99% sure this is the direction I am headed. The reliability/cost of ownership/ease of mods/v8 noises I think really lends itself to what I am looking for.

I also think I am going to cheap out a bit and look for one with higher miles…but must have the dif upgraded.
Lower initial cost = more mod/maint $ available and then I wont get super angry if I hurt it.
Plus, the LSX is a pretty solid power plant that doesnt seem to get too tired unless its really abused and even then…

I am sure I could drive a corvette in the winter, I just dont think I would. Plus I would like to get something with a little more room in case i need to meet with a client or something random comes up.
Plus, I dont want to be known as the crazy asshole who drives his vette in the snow.
