# Current in shop restorations.. no 56k

Due to the interest in my last post about my dads 69 COPO camaro being in the BASF calendar, I decided to show you guys some of whats going on in the shop right now.
We have been working on this car for about a year and 3 months. Its also a 1969 COPO Camaro. The final color will be black. We have the fenders painted and cowl panel at our other shop right now. They look incredable. Here are some pictures I took today. This vehicle owner lives in the state of California… it made the journey all the way over here to get done by Super Car Workshop / Roberts Auto Body. He will be happy once she is done!
Here is the sub-frame for this vehicle, notice how all the inperfections must be left and worked around when restoring this part. There are many many hours in just the sub-frame.
This is next on the chopping block, we started on it a little bit. I am so glad to be doing this car since its a little different than the normal COPO / Yenko Camaros / Novas / Chevelle’s we usually do. Its a original 1969 Mustang Boss 429, the owner shipped it from Colorado to us. Don’t quote me on this, but I believe it was either the same year or a 67, but either way, a Boss 429 sold on Barret Jackson for $410,000. I cant wait till this beast is done.

Seeing as there were only Boss 429’s in 1969 and 1970 (and of course the few 429 3rd Gen stragglers) I’m assuming it would be one of those years, not a '67. Just a little side note of info for ya.:burnout:
Looking good already. Restored Boss 429’s can go for $80,000 in just decent condition. Good work

Yeah… it is a 1969… I wasn’t 100% sure, but I checked.

It will be a very close to numbers car, except the cowl tag (which i could get stamped if i wanted to) regardless, it’ll be a clone. We’ve had the original zl1 motor for gosh, 15 years. there is a lot of speculation to which motor went into what car, so as far as i know, its NOT a vette motor and was from yenko.
basicly my dad’s retirement

Good deal… Thats awsome either way… that motor is worth some $$$… and if he ever wants to sell it at any point… shoot me a pm… I know some people that would buy it in a heartbeat.

I just wish i had the resources to to it right, on a rotisserie like you are doing the COPO. That also takes money I dont have! I’d love to check those cars out 🙂
I dont think this will ever be forsale. Maybe when its done.
