# Cylinder hea bolts!

My question is?
What is the right tool to take off the cylinder head bolts?
I have been trying to take the head off but the bolts are f… so hard to take off, what is the right way to do that?
Should i use a torque gun?Or it is possible with only the normal wrench?
I holpe that someone can explain it to me please!

use a normal wratchet with the correct size socket or hex key (depending on style of bolt) then put a long bar on the handle of the wratchet, and crack them loose. It will take a conciderable amount of force to crack them loose, as they have between 75 and 90 Ft/lb of torque from the factory.
Be prepared to loose your balance when they crack loose. It wil go without much warning.

Don’t use an impact on them. Like scribbles said, use a pipe on the rachet.

I’d use a breaker bar, I respect and value my ratchets and never put pipes on them…

Any wratchet that slips with putting a bar on it, is junk anyway.

Use a breaker bar. The hex size is 10mm for the head bolts. I would never put a pipe on any of my ratchets. The is a right tool for every job. People that work in shops spend $$$ on quality tools why would you want them out for repairs, for something stupid like snapping the wrist pin, by putting a bar on a ratchet?

ok, do what ever you want, I’ve been putting a pipe on my wratchet for years and have only ever had to return 1 crappy tire one for a swap.

I did using a craptire wrench and a bar, lol 😃 , that is why i got parts with lifetime guaranty!
If that breaks i’ll go back!Anyway it already done thatnks again guys!

The suspension guy at work as been putting a pipe on his Snap-On and Mastercraft rachets for 25 years, he NEVER had a problem.
