i have a d16a6 that has a bad crank… looking for a used/ resurfaced if anyone has one… i’m guessing d series cranks interchange like b series do?

Not exactly, the A6 is kinda specific to itself cuz it has a different stroke than the 1.5’s and the newer 1.6’s.
Wiki D series engine, you’ll find all the info you could ever want on a Honda engine.

I’ve built 4 Z6’s and 2 A6’s, the rod lengths are DIFFERENT, doesn’t matter who’s full of shit, I’ve been there and done it.
Just try not to buy shit that won’t work.

the a6 is the best bottom end honda ever made in the d series platform.
any EF (88-91) si should have an a6 in it, your best bet is to look for a complete motor that you can hear run.
Stay away from the d16y8, the only thing worth while on the y8 is the head and the intake manifold, the bottom ends are junk junk junk.
a little offtpic but for an NA d series, using oem parts, a6 bottom end, z6 head and intake with an h22 throttlebody would be a really nice way to go.

My buddy has everything to build a vitara setup.brand new.has block already notched for rods crank everything that you would need and is willing to sell it all cheap.Even has y8 head that was port and polished

the y8’s arent the best for power/performance but ive had ones with over 200,000 with perfect compression and no problems at all
didnt you just buy the a6? did he say the crank was bad?
