I guess, from what I’ve read, they dont react to most insect sprays > Millipede and centipede invasions have long beena problem for many homeowners. Although these invasionsseem more likely to occur in the spring and after heavyrains, they have been reported in every month of thecalendar year. Thousands of migratory millipedes cancreate a mess. Once they die, expect a smell that canlast for several weeks. Centipedes have been known todo the same, but usually in much smaller numbers. Thisarticle will try to provide some information about thesepests, why they are a problem and how you can treat forthem. There are over 1000 species of millipedes in theUnited States. They are slow crawling, appear to havehundreds of legs and generally gray to light brown incolor. Most species take 1-2 years to reach reproductivematurity and can live 5-10 years. They love to live indecomposing thatch, leaves and mulch. They will get nutrition from these locations and may choose a rootsystem of a nearby plant on which to feed. When theybreed, the eggs hatch larva which will feed right wherethey emerge. This leads to large populations or nestswhich can number in the hundreds. They will remain feeding as long as there is a food supply to support the nest. This could be for a year or two but atsome point expect a migration. Excessive rain, droughtor lack of food will cause them to migrate. Thisphenomenon can occur at any time of the year and mayresult in several thousand moving in a direction that is in line with your home. The author has dealt with several infestations of millipedes that have numberedin the hundreds of thousands. One customer had somany he used a gas powered blower to round up all thedead ones and 14 Hefty bags to haul them away! Thishappened over a three day period, but if he didn’t have the right materials or know how to use them, hewould have had a mess in his home. Other infestationshave lead to thousands stacking up or climbing theside of a house. f’n GROSS ---

I was in the shower with one. We have a shower that’s below ground level, and it isn’t used all the time. I said oh hello pedie pedie and he said BENEDICITE COREY and I said you must leave and he said okay and he left down the potty. ---

Did you know that the FDA allows 20 “fig wasps” per fig? And did you know that the red coloring in lip gloss (and it is also used to some extent in coke) is made out of crushed bugs? Carmine. Look it up! Fun stuff! ---
