# Dateline debt collectors in Buffalo

My girl is a debt collector at Iqor and I just applied there to work while going to school. A few times she’s had people cry with joy because of the ridiculous settlements they can offer.
This old lady owed like 17k in debt and they settled it for 4k, she cried for like a half hour because she thought she’d die with the debt. I’ve heard a ton of times where people complain of “bullying” when it’s absolutely nothing, people in debt love to make complaints about people trying to settle it. At a lot of agencies if the decibel volume goes over a certain level (collector or debtor) it gets instantly transferred to the supervisor.

Tobias Boyland **Debt Collector**
**WHO SHOULD FEAR HIM:** credit card abusers, deadbeats
With a nickname like “Bags of Money,” you best believe the man is going to get paid. Boyland, an ex-convict turned illegal debt collector, ran afoul of Attorney General Andrew Cuomo for the aggressive, intimidating, and often “street” tactics used by his numerous agencies. Boyland’s collectors frequently impersonated police and warrant officers during their calls and demanded payment on nonexistent, inflated, or expired debts.
When investigators arrived with a search warrant in 2009, Boyland was found carrying an illegal handgun, and seven more weapons, including an AK-47 assault rifle, were discovered inside his house. Due to a prior conviction for armed robbery in 1993, Boyland was sentenced to 15 years in prison, the maximum allowed.

Hell, when I noticed him pulling into the valet lane, I got all giddy and knew that lunch was on him that night.

IIRC even without the criminal record, an illegal weapon will get you a minimum of 10 years…I’ll have to check.
