Thanks man, I am going to look into those clubs.

> How the hell would a miata pass the helmet rule with a tall person? The helmet would probably be above the windsheild itself, let alone a cage to clear it by an inch, and putting the top back up.

For Miatas a race seat close to the floor adds a few inches. Slightly massage the tranny tunnel for even more room.

I think he was giving me advice on a miata, and curious about his own 350z on the track.

But sounds like a plan for me for the track if i plan on getting a miata.

Maybe I’m just a pussy but I wasn’t comfortable riding as an instructor at an autocross with my head above the windshield. The idea of my head/neck being the rollbar wasn’t real cool. Even worse at track day speeds.

Part of Spec Miata specs is to lower the seat to a safe/normal level, and to relocate the brake pedal so you can actually heel-toe. Basically it fixes the car.

The broomstick rule is not a sweeping rule… it’s per region, even in the PCA and NASA.

The last track event I was going to attend at WGI with PCA, I passed because Porsches with factory roll bars were allowed, but my friend in his s2k did not pass because he did not meet broomstick.

> Anecdote:Last year a woman in her 60s was driving down Niag Falls blvd in the residential section, had a stroke, lost control wheel / planted the throttle, veered across 3 lanes of 35mph traffic, pegged a 4’ wide tree @ ~70mph - that tree was ~30’ in front of a house on the blvd. We were 3 houses down the street at the time and we felt the hit shake the ground.

An old guy did the same thing in the Valu parking lot on Nash Rd nt, had a heart attack, pinned the throttle no steering, blew through a fence and hit a houses foundation…Imagine being home when it happened

Exactly, all the people saying “73, WTF.”, 73 isn’t _that_ old. Take care of yourself and you will be alive and kicking well past 73. Hell I cycle with guys that have 30+ years on me and they are animals.

that really sucks, sorry for the families involved. I always questioned the No guard rails or jersey barriers separateing the pits from the track at dunnville. not to mention the guys who hide behind haybales to spectate there. Just not safe IMO. Im sure this will peg against the tracks problems of operation. good thing it happened on the track and not the QEW.

I would also not track any convertable without a bar. after being in a rollover accident from a 81 year old female driver running a redlight. miatas seem like great little track scooters… if only my fat ass fit in one. ive only tried driving a first gen.

73 is pretty close to the average life expectancy age for males. That’s why no one would be surprised to find out he died before the crash.

I love it.
If the bitch ran i would let you molest it a little.
I should be in the garage right now…

Annnnnd I do have a roll bar. My helmet was atouch above it.
Rather roll with a bar than without.

Alot of people remove foam from the stock seats to give themselves an extra inch or two of clearance.

You mean so they could flip the car off and jack the ebrake?

So it would’ve been better?

Or it gonna suck more if someone teleports into the past into his car?
