# Dec questions...??

So im on my way to school for my baseball game, and layzie comes pulling next to me on the thruway, just talking for a minute, he gets on it in third, and what do we hear sirens. A green jimmy which was a Dec officer pulls him over. Are they allowed to give tickets and stuff? i thought they were all about checking fishing licenses and what not. Just curious. layzie got away clean btw.

Yes, they can give tickets for pretty much anything. Had a long discussion with some DEC guys while getting kicked out of somewhere for offroading.

DEC has more authority than troopers.
they can pretty much fuck you any way they want.

same with the NFTA police, they have as much authority as the sheriffs dept.

actually they have more. If there’s an airport, subway or bus station in a town…they have authority there.

The DEC is usually in those dark green SUV’s right? Wow I’ve pasted so many of them in the past doing 75+ on the highway thinking “meh it’s not a cop, who cares”

They would need a way to verify speed if you were talking about a speeding sense. Since they don’t have radar (i’m pretty sure) blowing by one that is parked wont get you a ticket. They can get you for anything else tho. Even have the authority to wander into your property and search anything.
