if you have some of the minimum gear for roller you could just pick up some skates and start going to stick times around the area. I go to one that’s like $7 for 1.5 hours of ice time at your pace. Pretty laid back and last time we even got a 4-4 half-ice / post pickup game going that was a great way to make the transition. So far I like ice a little more than roller but still can’t stop with my left foot forward and still haven’t played real pickup, mostly because I’m missing some equipment and I’m more worried about getting hurt because I’m not in full control of my skating yet. But that is a pretty pussy excuse on my part.
