I’m trying to figure out what this means… I’ve seen it a few times on job postings… Does it mean that the company offers a bonus for those relocating to a certain area, or does it mean that those local to the area get the bonus. In most cases the amount is 2-5 grand depending on the job. ---

Sounds just as it say, more pay if you are working in a different area. We have hourly pay differential, aka if your shift starts after a certain hour you get more $$$ ---

Generally it’s a difference in pay based on location. At my last job a friend moved from our Buffalo location to our San Francisco office and they gave him a raise of 15k to make up for the difference. Problem is once he got out there and started pricing houses and everything else that cost so much more than it does here he realized he was actually making less. ---
