Im trying to switch the cables now to see if that works

well you could check it yourself by

a. going to the dish itself, switching the wires with one that is known for working  
b. make sure both inputs on the back of the reciever are working with both wires directly from the dish

well let me know how everything went. all of a sudden its searching for signal on satellite in 1…(771) no idea what that means. first time ive seen this. Oh wait now I hear the rain coming down. haha
