There is a stretch, pillar box, crop, and original setting. I am going to set-up then system set-up then HDTV then display set-up in the menu. ---

go to setup over to the hd column then you can change it to 1080i ---

there should be a format selection under settings.I am not in front of a hd reciever. ---

sorry my directions were inaccurate these are the step by step for you 1. press menu 2. go to system setup 3. go down to hdtv 4. push up on directional pad taking you to column selections. 5. go over to tv resolutions 6. press down to get to display options. there should be a 480i and 480p 720p and 1080i 7. select 1080i 8.enjoy ---
