The limiting factor on how fast you can spin a rotary is how fast you can get the flame front moving with complete burn It’s a huge area to get combustion across in a cycle, hence why they have twin plugs from the get go. Rotary eccentrics spin like every other motor crank, but the actual rotors run at 1/3rd the “rpm” and have minimal 2nd order vibrations. I love how they sing to the moon so easily. ---
