# Does NYS offer a 30 day temp tag?

I am a Texas resident, but have a car in NYS I want to drive back here.
Problems:
1. salvage title
2. title in my wife’s mother’s name
Can I get a 30 day temp tag from NYS and just drive it here? I’m looking on their website and can’t come up with much.
Dumb broad on the phone says there isn’t a temp tag in NYS. Is this true?

i think she would have to sell the car to you in order to get the in-transit permit

i heard if you’re trying to import a SKYLINE, you should be able to.
it has to be a kit car though

That is fine, I already paid her for the car, so would just have to sign the title and give me a receipt. It will go into my name once in Texas. I was worried about it being a salvage title. (Haven’t passed it though inspection yet.)

I believe the car needs to have insurance and a valid inspection to obtain the permit…

drive it with her plates? but yes there are intertate and intrastate permits
