Thats another thing I am doing a lot of research on because my son will be 4 and I dont want him to have a dog for 3 - 4 years and have to be faced with death. I know its a part of life and we would deal with it but it would be nice to get a dog that has a 10 year life expectency…

We had him for like 13 or 14 years. He was definitely old. It happens, but yeah, I definitely agree with you on finding a dog that will live for a long time so your kid doesn’t have to face that situation until he’s a young adult.
