# done 5 speed swap but somthing is wrong?

ok i did the 5 speed swap on my s13 and got it runing . now when i push the clutch the tranny makes a big wining/screeching noise and the tranny smokes like a bitch. now i did install a new chutch and release baring. does anyone have any ideas on what is going on.?

hmmm… so your tranny only makes this sound when you push the clutch in ?
I can hear my release bearing spinning "not loud and doesnt wine or screech. But I have no interior what so ever and a tiny hole :lol:
I was told if you can hear it spin then it may not be fully dis-engaged? but then it should slip/move if you rev it up “which mine doesnt”
You can adjust the pedal where it goes throu the Fire Wall…
Did you check to see if there was a Pilot Bushing on the other side of the flywheel etc… ? and you are sure you put the clutch/release bearing all in proper?

i dont really know what is going on… i guess all i can do is take the tranny out again and see whats up.

did u change the pilot bearing? It’s a brass piece inside the engine… you have to replace the auto one to a manual one… they are different size, if you didn’t do this, your tranny would definitelly be whinning because of it.
