true, something like top 5% get to choose where they go, the rest are assigned. the job is awesome, with really good benefits so i’ve already decided if its less than 1 hour away, i will commute, of its more i will move. Once you have been on the force for a few years, you can apply to skip zones, and move back where you’d like… 200,000 richer. sounds like a plan to me. ---

nooo, i gotta sell my car if i pass everything and get into the academy. they will rip me apart for it… plus it would jeprodize my dream job, not worth it. After i’m a trooper i’ll be out in somethin a bit newer, with bigger rims :crackup ---

all the police I know drive like that daily, and when they get pulled over they dont get any tickets, all the ones I know could get away with murder, like being drunk doing 130 and blowing through redlights, and he didnt get a single ticket. but I wouldnt recomend that at all :lol ---

yeah i wouldnt take that risk though, i dont want to make myself look bad, the job is awesome. i’m 21. if i get in within the next 2 years, i work for 20 years at say 80grand a year average… and i’m done. Retired at 43, with a 75% pention. ---

Im majoring in CRJ also. Iam going to take the Test for both Colonie PD and NYS Trooper after two more semesters at school but continue for my bachelors degree. ---
