# Driving Shoes

Anyone here buy shoes specifically for driving. I usually wear some sort of skate shoe and they suck when you are trying to heel-toe and shit.
I was at Marshall’s the other day and snagged a set of Pumas. I really like how they look, plus they are really nice to drive in.
Anyone else have driving specific shoes?

diesels are pretty low profile, seems like they would definitely work well.

i have a set of pumas but i dont use them specifically for driving they are my everyday shoe also

I cant wear work boots and be comfy.I cant feel the clutch so i always wear my DC’s to work and then put my boots on.

I have a set made by gforce that I bought for racing but I never use them on my street car because you feel everything through the soles when you are walking around. I normally either have my redwing workboots on or my orchid sneakers and never really have an issue you just need to learn how to use and manipulate your whole foot I suppose.

I actually bought a pair of sketchers:
The soles are really thin, which means I can get more tactile feeling from the peddles. And the bottom has a nice curve to it so the points of my foot that actually touch the peddles during a heel toe are more grippy.
Edit: Also, no shoelaces which is a huge safety plus.

I have Adidas with Goodyear soles on them…I haven’t driven on a track yet, but I plan I wearing these when I do. They are narrow and light. The sole is hard enough to get good response on the pedals but not hard enough where they aren’t comfortable.

i was going to buy some of the new DC driving shoes, chicanes i think they are called… because they actually don’t look stupid.
however i used to just use running shoes because they had the rounded back heel and were light material so i could feel ok. however my feets are too big to heel-toe easily so i just roll my foot to the side and the running shoes are too narrow.

Ugh, the worst is going to an event and seeing 100 pairs of douchebag Pumas. I can appreciate if they provide someone with a better connection with the pedals, but I hate how people think they are so awesome.
THEY LOOK GAY.
The DC chicanes are normal looking.

I either use running shoes or indoor soccer non-turf stud shoes. Doesn’t matter too much to me. A foot’s a foot, a shoes a shoe. If you can be smooth and drive fast in one set, you should be able to drive fast in another.

true, but changing shoes, a significant change, like going from boots to driving shoes is tough because the pedals are in completely different places by comparison…
I have to wear steel toed boots to work (don’t fucking ask why, as I work a desk job), and then small shoes for a-x and what not and it always takes a bit to get used to it, almost to the point where i’ve considered racing in my work boots 😛
