I remember either reading or watching something about Abu Dhabi and the guy was saying that the average 21 year old male brings in around 120K a year USD (maybe is was on ona?) that’s just retarded lol Enjoy it while it lasts. I wonder how long before the fundamentalist Islamic movement views UAE as a “western devil” ---

Look at it this way. Now the U.S. knows how the rest of the world felt as we built our capitalistic nation. Good for them. Nice to see so much more of the world making progress. ---

But that’s one major reason they’re able to pull off this level of development in such a short period of time. So why would they want to help or empower the poor working class? So their projects could take 10 times as long? To make a poor people happy? Imagine trying to build a tower like this in the US where environmentalists would complain about birds hitting it, or unions holding out for more money and stalling the project. In Dubai, if you try to start a union you’re arrested. Progress like this always comes at someone else’s expense. But hey, it’s working great for them and their isn’t any incentive to change things :tup: ---
