Put a clutch disk on backwards doing a clutch swap on my Fiero. Didn’t know until I had put the trans back on the engine, cradle back in the car and buttoned everything up. Nothing like having to do a big job like that twice in a row. So much swearing… ---

I was underneath my car swapping the stock shocks for coilovers when I reached above my head for the impact wrench. I hear my friend yell “DON’T GRAB IT LIKE THAT!” I grab it anyways and end up drilling myself in the forehead with it. I had a pretty nice bruise on my face for a few weeks. I still got the coilovers on though. ---

I bought a set of wheels once for an old car and when I put them on the spokes didn’t clear the calipers. Then I noticed the hub centric rings in the package and though they were spacers. I reinstalled the wheels with these “spaces” and drove down the street. Things started to get wobbly. Pulled back into my driveway and realized the “spacers” had disintegrated and I was close to utter disaster… It could have been a very bad day, lol. ---

I got distracted by a neighbor coming over to chat while I was swapping my summer tires on once and ended up forgetting to torque down the lugs on one tire. Luckily I recognized the “tick tick tick” on my test drive before any damage was done, pulled over, and tightened them with the lug wrench on the side of the 990. I’ve been working on cars since I was 16 and the first time I ever forgot to torque lug nuts was just last year. 🙂 ---

Parked my Z in the driveway at my last house a couple summers ago. Went inside and looked out the kitchen window trying to figure out why some guy slowed and stopped in front of my house. Turns out he was watching my car go ghost rider across the street into my neighbors front lawn. Parking brake setting is thoroughly checked and rechecked since. ---

oh man that reminded me. I did that once while delivering pizza to someone. we both stood there and watched my jetta ghost ride out of their driveway. the rear tire hit the curb across the street and stopped it. thankfully no children were around… ---

16 with my first car and very inexperienced with manual transmissions. Pulled into my garage but not quite far enough to close the garage door. I had the car door open and my left leg outside the car. I proceeded to use my right foot to actuate the clutch, as I let out of the clutch I realized I wasn’t going to be able to hit the brake. As the car rolled forward I panicked and completely let off the clutch thinking I could get to the brake in time and the car would stall out. The car went right into the back of the garage. ---
