Can you imagine it getting shut down for 17 years? Where the hell does this number even come from?

> Why? Because residents didn’t appreciate that high-octane wailing brought on by the F1 circus, so the local Council of State instructed the circuit to conduct an environmental impact study. From the sounds of it, someone tried to get the study done the night before it was due, because the Council found it “seriously inadequate and incomplete.” Instead of issuing a simple detention, the Council said “No race for you!” until, _gulp,_ 2026.

Race City in Calgary is having trouble too. Asshole hypocrites get old and become miserable even though you know 15 years ago they were perfectly fine with it.

Rest assured the Autoblog article makes it seem much worse than it is. You really think a track that has recently had over 20 million euros invested in it, has the government backing the race, and has been around since 1924 is going just close for 17 years?

Sounds like you have the inside scoop; what’s the full report?

The basics are correct it is “technically” revoked till 2026, but it’s also on the Formula 1 calender for the 2010 season. Spa is also one of the top tracks when it comes to attendance of any race track (for major events). It’s also one of the few Grand Prix tracks in Europe which operates regular track days. My point being with the amount of financial investment there from major players as well as the Belgian government you can be damn sure that after a minor renegotiation Spa Francorchamps will win their appeal (which they are supposedly filing on Monday).

people are cry baby whiners, its the people with kids who hate thier lives because they werent smart enough to get free brithcontrol, so now they want to screw mup everyones fun, because thier poor life decissions stopped them from having any.

Its the same people who complain when you work on your car after work, because it needs it, and they pay a million dollars because they arent smart enough to run a can opener, so now its your fault for knowing how to fix your own shit.

I seriously hate cry baby people, why the hell can’t everyone have a brass set, life isnt that fucking hard /rant

Tired of seeing tracks shut down by yuppies. It makes me wish I had kids in school with there kid, so they could beat the kids ass daily and say tell your mother to get the decission reversed.

ugh, i hate whiners that move to a decent area and then mess it all up with their bitching… its usually folks from the city that want to live in the country and then cry like babies cause people build racetracks in the country to stay away from the whiners. and then the whiners move near to the track and expect the track to stop when they were there first (in this instance). do some research before you move, douchebags.

i can hear both Perry speedway (asphalt oval) and NYIRP from my house and im almost 10 miles from NYI.

This reminds me of the rock band that claimed to be so loud that if they moved in next door to you, your grass would die. 🙂
