Some users of Vegas (my preferred choice for video editing, which I actually BOUGHT  !!) claim you can just rename a .vob to .mpg and import them into Vegas and other editing applications. I say no. It’s never worked for me.

[font=Arial][size=2]^^ that = mad work + mad time. his _skill level_ being what it is, i’d say that that is beyond his reach.

^^ go here. scroll down. download torrent files. open torrents with p2p sharing program such as azureus. enjoy whatever specific episodes you want already in mpg, avi, wmv format etc.

The process of converting is so time-consuming, many pro video editors have commented that they simply recapture the footage through analog capture methods.

> That’s not “ripping.” That’s converting, and it’s a pain in the ass. If you find an easy, consistent, and successful way to do this without humongous software installs, let me know. Converting a .vob to anything usable in a video editing program (.avi, .mpeg, .mov) is a time-consuming, complicated process.

lol ya know, for the longest time I couldnt figure out how to switch the “chino” profile to something else on it. I tried everything but just wouldnt work (ex. “chinos documents”) so I formated and went to media center lol

I’ll tell ya what though… for all the shit emachines catches about being a shitty brand, this has been one of the most problem free systems I’ve ever owned

with a better vid card and more memory it’s not bad 🙂 still lacks in some areas but overall I’m happy 🙂
