It’s going to be impossible not to get some buildup with the direct injection but they do not seem to be having the severe issues some European cars have. When it comes to diesels Cummins \> all. I wouldnt touch a Powerstroke and IFS in a heavy duty truck (GM) is lame. ---

A big part of the reason Ford sells more trucks is that theyre cheaper. Most fleet owners arent brand loyal and will buy the cheapest trucks they can. ---

i think that motors are real nice nowadays. they produce plenty of power considering the size and amount of cylinders, but i’m not so sure about the rest of the truck in a place like upstate ny. salt and rock chips and all that shit will eat that truck before you need to replace the motor. yea, they stress it in the dyno cell, but cover it in salt, water, oils and all kinds of other shit as its spinning in there for tests that are closer to real world conditions. the simulation is just that, a simulation. i’d wait till most of those motors have over 150 kmi on them from being driven, then check em out. im not saying its a bad motor by any means here. im just saying i’d rather check em out after you get a buncha idiots behind the wheel, put em in some nyc or la or miami traffic. some nasty weather like buffalo or something. give em to a buncha idiot kids to beat. stuff like that will better illustrate what that motor will be like. you cant really simulate all of that in a dyno cell. ---

I think picking a random engine off the assembly line, driving around a nascar track pulling a trailer and then a few other tests and then dropping the same engine in a race truck and finishing the Baja 1000 is worse than sitting in city traffic. ---

i cant say, im not a tech or an engineer at ford. something i noticed is that it’s always clean. they change tires often too. i’d leave it be, like an average driver who doesnt know what a spark plug looks like. forget to change the oil in it a little bot, like for an extra 400 miles or so on a buncha oil changes. leave the oem intake filter in there thats dirty. just like ppl do in the real world. but i mean, i totally understand, its a commercial 🙂 ---
