# Ecomotors - Opposed Piston Opposed Cylinder engine

This looks pretty interesting with dual pistons and no valve train.

It looks really interesting…but it looks as though it could only work in a FWD or AWD car with a really long engine bay and the trans hung off to the side to power the front wheels, PTO to the rear for AWD…

it is a interesting way to over complicate a 2 stroke engine. I still think a 2 stroke direct injection would see success in a racing application.

Yes, it’s a lot of fuss over a two stroke. I platform that already promises amazing fuel economy. There are a lot more moving parts with this design and therefor with Murphy Law in place much more shit to go wrong.

How do you figure this? Have you seen a Subaru engine?

because they have drawn the housing into the design, and if you compare the size of the area a bellhousing would bolt up, the “width” of this motor is FAR too wide to fit the longway side-to-side in an engine bay unless the distance between the framerails was like 5’ +
