# Emergency Trunk Release?

Hey SON,
So my Kouki starts acting up and doesn’t want to release the trunk. lol. I don’t have a key for the trunk and the electronic trunk release is temporarily disabled since the alarms is buggin right now.
Anyone have any problems with this before? Made my way into the trunk from the inside of the car and was looking to release it from the inside. It’s not budging.

With the trunk open, take a look at the latch, and get someone to pull on the lever at the front.
You should see the cable being pulled. If the cable is moving and the latch is not, then you need to recrimp the cable tighter to the latch release lever.
It shouldn’t be too hard, try it out. Use a screwdriver to engage the hinge, so you don’t have to close the trunk.

either that or the same problem i had… theres a lil thingy in the latch taht u can move up and down… this lockes it when its… a certain way… i dont remember
i had to squeeze inside and do it with a flashlight… man that was hard…

^ thank guys. Yes, The member I bought the car off of (S14point5) told me the same thing. There is some sort of safely latch inside. I will post pics of inside the trunk later, maybe you can point in out Shawn. lol. Thanks.

If it’s the same as the skyline right under the lock it’s a fairly noticeable safety lock. I believe it should be up for it to be unlocked.
