Who does it? it’s a sohc honda if it matters, and i need it done asap. also, am i really looking at 500 plus? if any advertisers want to pm me a price i’d appreciate it.

its not usually needed if u balance the conrod and pistons to eachother

umm, why do you need it asap?
if you picked up an aftermarket rod/slug combo, you’re generally fine.
Will you be spinning hig revs for sustained periods?

Forged eagles with srp piston, it will see redline frequently, but more drag racing than auto cross

Ugh the typical misinformation from people who don’t build engines.
On topic most machines shop will be able to balance the rotating assembly from your engine. That will include either adding heavy metal to the crankshaft or drilling the counterweights to remove material (lighten) If you want you can also weight match everything and pair the heaviest piston with the lightest rod, etc. I usually come up with a max of 1.0 gram between the heaviest piston/rod combo and the lightest. Balancing at a good machine shop generally costs ~$250. You will need to take:
1. Crankshaft
2. Balancer and flywheel if they aren’t zero balanced already
3. Connecting rod
4. Piston (with complete ring pack, circlips, and pin)
5. Connecting rod bearing

Any shop recommendations? do they assemble when they balance or is it just weight balanced?

I know the NAPA shop on Werhle can do this. I’m sure if you call up some of the forum sponsors that deal with engine building, they can point you to local people in the area that could handle it.

don (carnut) knows a guy that can do it. i think it costed me 150 to balance my motor i cant remember
edit: it may be more dont hold me to the price i stated.

sorry to chime in as a noob but what would be the benefit of balancing a engine for high revs?

i know napa has a machine shop, i use them frequently, but they send the balancing stuff out because they can’t do it on wehrle.
think of it like a washing machine out of balance. engine balancing will ensure longevity of my bearings at high rpms. at 8k rpms the slightest weight difference could chew a bearing and ruin lots of time and $$$. while this isn’t a no budget build, it’s not exactly a thrown together setup. i’d rather spend a few hundred to ensure its right than lose everything i’ve got into it.
