i had my hood popped today while my engine was running and i noticed every second or two the motor had a strange shake to it, like a little twitch or something, also my exhaust was sputtering. would anyone know what my problem might be? i just changed the fuel filter in my car today, and my oil yesterday. it doesnt seem like that would be my problem though. i was thinking it might be my plugs, but they are only a month old and i have had no problems with the car until today.

Is it possible that these are just normal vibrations? I know with my Spec V, every couple seconds at proper operating temperature the motor will vibrate a little and the exhaust note will change very slightly, and only for a moment. Yet the car runs great and never gives me any problems.

Could it just be that your ECU is altering variables in the engine? If you aren’t noticing any driveability problems, keep your eye on it but it’s probably nothing to worry about.

Vacuum leak or plugged exhaust would cause those symptoms as well.

Ya to me sounds like a misfire, and the sputter might be some of the unburnt fuel in the exhaust burnin. The misfire might cause a misbalance because the one piston isnt getting the power stroke, causing the sahke. But could be othere things too obviously.
