FWIW The employee portion of the Social Security tax was lowered from 6.2% to 4.2% in 2011, all the tax “hike” is, is the expiration of the tax “cut” of 2% bringing it back to the normal level. Employers have been paying the whole 6.2% all along. In the past two years the tax cut has _saved_ you $3,120 if you averaged $84,000/year. ---

Yup. There is a maximum you can draw from SS too, that’s why there is a max deduction. But I do think the wealthy need to pay more of a % of their earnings than they do now If you own a business you pay the employee and employers hare pretty much as well. Could be 12.4% of your earnings if you make enough in your paycheck ---

Cell phones didn’t start till 08, hence “Obamaphone”. before the it was landline only. idk why anyone would need a cell ophone, landline phones work just fine.
