I have to pay this right before I go away on vacation/I’m out of work bc my broken collar bone. > > -Dan I’m suprised they let you get away with it at the DMV itself… When I registered my 2001 Grand prix I dident even pay anything for it… It was an even trade, but only dealers can “trade” vehicles so my dad put in the ammount of 400 dollars… Well soon as she brought it to the lady, she charged him 200+ dollars for taxes on the book value of the car, about 3 grand… My dad said he dident even really pay for the thing, but obviously had to put something down because hes not a dealer… She said it doesnt matter because the car is newer bla bla bla, you have to pay the sales tax on it thats probably already been paid on the car 2-3 times already… I love how new york state gets the sales tax multiple times… :wierd --- _[View the full topic](https://forums.speedlife.net/t/everyone-please-read/243879)._
