# EVO and Smartphone guru's

I have a sprint HTC EVO smartphone. Why can’t I upload video’s from my phone with sound? They are all imported but no sound???

Codec issue? What audio encoder are you using for the files? Chances are you may need some additional player to play it on your computer.

I pulled the video’s right off my phone via mini usb. I’m not sure what format they are in I’ll check and post up later.

The file type is 3GPP Audio/Video (.3gp)…

I switched the player to quicktime now I have audio for some reason.

why is this?

You didn’t have the right codec in the other media player you were using

Google whatever format the video is in and whatever media player you were using and audio codec
