Depends on how you look at it. Last I checked you could buy a base model vette for just under 40k and the GT500 costs almost 50k. A Z06 is only 5k more and is a much better over all performer with better balance. So the debates that this is equal to that is all idiotic. You could buy a SS and build it up to destroy a GT500 for the same price. Or do the same with a Ford. It all comes down to buyer and owner preference, anybody that wants an all out performance vehicle will get exactly what they want in the brand that they prefer.
